It’s no surprise that maintaining a healthy diet is huge these days. With all of the junk food out there its almost impossible to keep a strict healthy diet. For you healthy hustlers out there that are sticking to their eating plan, are you consuming the best brain foods? Lets see if you’ve got some of these brain foods in your kitchen!

#1 Oily Fish

Oily fishes can have a huge impact on promoting healthy brain function. The 2 primary types of omega-3 fatty acids (DHA & EPA) that can be found in fish oil are very beneficial for your brain. Some of fish oil’s incredible benefits include assisting the prevention of minor memory loss. Not only that, but some studies have proven fish oil to aid in depression as well. Some of the best fish to eat include, salmon, trout, herring, sardines and many more. So if you’ve got some fish in your fridge then you’re already on the right track!

#2 Nuts

Eating nuts has historically proven to be beneficial in multiple ways. From potential reduction of inflammation, or even a heart attack, to the nearly overwhelming amount of antioxidants and nutrients. When it comes down to it, nuts are great for you all around. Now, when it comes to brain activity we see the list of benefits a little differently. Similar to Fish, nuts in general have a large concentration of DHA, a type of Omega-3 fatty acid. But more specifically, walnuts are one of the best nuts for brain health with the significantly higher amount of DHA. If you’re not a walnut person, then almonds, hazelnuts and peanuts will be just fine.

Berries are truly incredible for brain health. Touching on both sides by improving brain memory and boosting brain functions, while also lowering risk for dementia and memory loss. One of the higher impacting berries are blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. The health benefits of blueberries alone is spectacular. And with the research to back it up, anyone can confidently say that any of these berries will help boost your brain activity tremendously. Next time try making a new smoothie, or topping off your yogurt with some of these delicious beneficial berries.

Just about everyone loves avocados. However not everyone truly realizes the benefits that come with the tasty green fruit. I’m sure there are tons of us who love having avocado with our dishes or some freshly made guacamole. Perhaps one of the best parts about it is that adding even 1/4 of an avocado to your daily diet can help with getting your brain activity rolling. Did you say avocado everyday?! I’m in!

Having your morning cup of coffee is almost routine for most people. Getting that coffee maker started might be one of the first things you do after you wake up. Filled with antioxidants, dark chocolate will also help support a healthy body overall. Not only that, but eating dark chocolate helps with your overall mood.   2. I’ve been eating eggs with spinach and peppers for so long now. It’s my go-to. Get a pan with some olive oil, throw some peppers and spinach in there, dump in some scrambled eggs, and boom, solid meal that doesn’t take long to make!
