Best Brain Foods for 2019

It’s no surprise that maintaining a healthy diet is huge these days. With all of the junk food out there its almost impossible to keep a strict healthy diet. For you healthy hustlers out there that are sticking to their eating plan, are you consuming the best brain foods? Lets see if you’ve got some of these brain foods in your kitchen!

Top Rated Best Brain Foods

#1 Oily Fish

Oily fishes can have a huge impact on promoting healthy brain function. The 2 primary types of omega-3 fatty acids (DHA & EPA) that can be found in fish oil are very beneficial for your brain. Some of fish oil’s incredible benefits include assisting the prevention of minor memory loss. Not only that, but some studies have proven fish oil to aid in depression as well. Some of the best fish to eat include, salmon, trout, herring, sardines and many more. So if you’ve got some fish in your fridge then you’re already on the right track!

#2 Nuts

Eating nuts has historically proven to be beneficial in multiple ways. From potential reduction of inflammation, or even a heart attack, to the nearly overwhelming amount of antioxidants and nutrients. When it comes down to it, nuts are great for you all around. Now, when it comes to brain activity we see the list of benefits a little differently. Similar to Fish, nuts in general have a large concentration of DHA, a type of Omega-3 fatty acid. But more specifically, walnuts are one of the best nuts for brain health with the significantly higher amount of DHA. If you’re not a walnut person, then almonds, hazelnuts and peanuts will be just fine.

#3 Berries

Berries are truly incredible for brain health. Touching on both sides by improving brain memory and boosting brain functions, while also lowering risk for dementia and memory loss. One of the higher impacting berries are blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. The health benefits of blueberries alone is spectacular. And with the research to back it up, anyone can confidently say that any of these berries will help boost your brain activity tremendously. Next time try making a new smoothie, or topping off your yogurt with some of these delicious beneficial berries.

#4 Avocados

Just about everyone loves avocados. However not everyone truly realizes the benefits that come with the tasty green fruit. Avocados will help lower blood pressure, as well as aid in maintaining a healthy body blood flow. This healthy blood flow will likewise relate to a healthy brain. I’m sure there are tons of us who love having avocado with our dishes or some freshly made guacamole. Perhaps one of the best parts about it is that adding even 1/4 of an avocado to your daily diet can help with getting your brain activity rolling. Did you say avocado everyday?! I’m in!

#5 Coffee

Having your morning cup of coffee is almost routine for most people. Getting that coffee maker started might be one of the first things you do after you wake up. That first sip of caffeine will be sure to wake you up, but that’s not all you’re sipping on. In your cup of coffee you also have Chlorogenic Acids, which are antioxidants that may benefit other things like high blood sure and your blood sugar metabolism. However the coffee you’re drinking is also benefiting your brain activity. A variety of brain functions like your attention, mood, reaction time and retention level will be improved during your caffeine consumption.

#6 Eggs

Eggs has been on the super foods list for quite some time. Aside from the overall health benefits that they have, eggs are incredible for brain function too. Although some may take out the eggs due to the amount of cholesterol, egg yolks have tons of nutrition within them that help promote brain activity. Being rich in Choline, egg yolks assist the brain in maintaining memory as well as aiding other vital brain functions. This is because Choline acts like a B-vitamin nutrient providing a boost in your neurotransmitter which will assist in brain cell communication. Keeping eggs in your daily diet may prove beneficial, just keep an eye on your cholesterol levels.

#7 Broccoli

Broccoli is very beneficial for our body in general, but it should be more notable for promoting growth and repairing brain tissue. That’s big for brain health. Broccoli and other cruciferous veggies like cauliflower, kale and Brussles sprouts all provide brain health benefits. Maybe you need some more vitamin C? Broccoli actually has plenty of it, about 80 milligrams per cup! Move over citrus!
Aside from the previously mentioned health and brain benefits, these different cruciferous veggies can also all help prevent future diseases like Alzheimer’s. Give them a try if you haven’t done so already, you may end up loving them!

#8 Dark Chocolate

Who doesn’t like some sweets every now and then? We’ve all heard of the benefits of dark chocolate for the heart, but what about for the brain? Dark Chocolate has flavonoids which can aid in blood flow. This can also improve your brains learning, memory, and overall focus. Filled with antioxidants, dark chocolate will also help support a healthy body overall. Not only that, but eating dark chocolate helps with your overall mood. Providing you with a boost of endorphins to help put you in a happy mood right after that first bite. Who would have guessed that having some sweetness in your life would help your brain?

#9 Beans

Similar to eggs, beans come loaded with Vitamin-B. As previously mentioned Vitamin-B can have some major brain boosting effects. Assisting your brain cell communication, the Vitamin-B you get from beans is nearly invaluable. Let alone the other nutrients you get from beans like antioxidants, fiber and magnesium to name a few. And considering how cheap beans are to buy at the store, its a perfect addition to your kitchen and daily diet.

#10 Fresh Brewed Tea

A fresh brewed cup of tea can prove very helpful for your brain power. Just like coffee, tea is loaded with caffeine which will supercharge your brain activity and improve your memory. More specifically drinking green tea, with its antioxidants found in it, can be very beneficial for the brain and body. Rosemary can also prove helpful for the brain with improving your memory, potentially even assisting those with Alzheimer’s disease.

Today the general public is well aware of the importance of  having a healthy body. As Hustlers we need to take that another step forward and consume more foods to benefit not only our body, but our minds as well. The foods listed above can and definitely will help with your brain power, so make no excuses as to why your kitchen isn’t loaded with ALL of these great brain foods!
